On Wednesday, April 26th, Tinder decided to take it a step further. The app announced a new profile verification procedure, which this time includes video. The principle remains the same: users will be asked to take a video, which will then be analyzed by the app to estimate whether or not it matches the photos on their profiles.

With this system, Tinder hopes to increase the security of its applications. Moreover, Tinder plans to provide more tools to its users to protect themselves. So, it’s now possible to ask your match to perform video verification, to make sure you’re talking to the person on the profile.
In the same way, it is possible to configure the application so that it only comes across verified profiles, thus eliminating any risk of identity fraud.
