The popular dating platform has announced some innovations with a focus on authenticity rather than appearance. From now on, Tinder wants to focus on shared values ​​and norms, as the new generation of daters attaches more importance to this. This is evident from the results of their ‘Future of Dating’ research.

According to 69 percent of Generation Z respondents (born between 1995 and 2010), “dating norms need to be refreshed to fit a more modern and diverse society.”

Furthermore, Generation Z “prefers values ​​such as respect and open-mindedness over appearance.” To implement this new focus on authenticity, Tinder has introduced several new features.

The new interface will now also be available in dark mode. The popular dating platform wants to appeal to those who use the app at night or those who want more discretion.

Starting a conversation is often one of the biggest obstacles for Tinder users. With ‘Prompt Profiles’ (profile suggestions) you can start a conversation about a specific topic. The user must select a topic to start a conversation. According to Tinder, the most popular Prompt Profiles are: “the key to my heart”, “the first item on my to-do list” and “two truths and a lie”.

As the name suggests, the Profile Quiz asks you to answer a questionnaire about yourself. The answers to these questions provide an indication of your interests and you can share these on your profile.

Info tags allow you to enter information about yourself in the form of tags. Your astrological zodiac sign, your diet, your pets, in short, all the elements that characterize you can be summarized in the form of tags. A user gets an overview of the person at a glance.

Tinder will now offer various options to report an account. This makes it possible to report specific elements of a problematic profile.
