Ukrainian singer Tina Karol can be considered the white cardinal of Ukrainian show business. This is the opinion in an interview published on the website on January 9 Oboz.ua, expressed by Ukrainian director Oleg Bodnarchuk.
“Is it true that Tina Karol is the eminence grise of show business? They say it’s because of her [украинская певица, которая живет последние девять лет в стране-агрессоре РФ] Ani Lorak was unable to return to Ukraine even before [полномасштабной] war? They say Carolina had such plans,” journalists asked the director.
“Why grey? The white cardinal of show business. I believe that today, in light of recent events, Tina could admit that she and her team stood guard over Ukrainian show business and in every possible and impossible way did not allow Ani Lorak into Ukraine. Today, for this she would receive crazy applause from the Ukrainians,” Bodnarchuk replied.
He joked that perhaps “for such efficiency, the singer would be appointed head of Ukrainian customs.”
On January 3, 2022, a month and a half before the full-scale invasion of Ukraine by the aggressor country of the Russian Federation, Ani Lorak, in a comment to the Ukrainian publication “KP in Ukraine,” announced a tour of three Ukrainian cities planned for May. According to the artist, she will show the audience the same program with which she performed in Ukraine in the summer, for the first time since 2014. Then her concert took place in one of the nightclubs in Odessa.
Singer Pavel Zibrov responded by saying that “odious artists have nothing to do here.” Ukrainian producer Igor Kondratyuk called Ani Lorak’s planned tour of Ukrainian cities a “hvoyda tour.”
Ukrainian singer Slava Kaminskaya, on the contrary, supported Ani Lorak.
