27-year-old striker arrives on loan from Leipzig
Tottenham confirmed that Timo Werner will reinforce the club until the end of the season on loan, with Spurs having the opportunity to sign the player from Leipzig on a permanent basis at the end of the season.
This transfer marks the German international’s return to England (and London), after having represented Chelsea between 2020 and 2022, a club where he won the Champions League in 2021 and scored 23 goals in 89 games.
Furthermore, Werner is known for his two spells at Leipzig, a club where he scored 113 goals in 213 matches.
However, the forward has only scored two goals in 14 games this season for the German club.
The 54-time German international is Tottenham’s first winter reinforcement, which currently occupies 5th place in the Premier League.
