Former Aston Villa forward Gabriel Agbonlahor has told Chelsea to sign a big striker when the transfer window opens this summer because Timo Werner is too erratic.
Werner didn’t have much of an impact on Saturday night as Leicester City beat Chelsea 1-0 in the FA Cup final at Wembley.
The 25-year-old joined Chelsea from RB Liepzig for £ 53million last summer.
“I tried to make him [Timo Werner] the benefit of the doubt as it’s his first season, but the more I see of him he makes the wrong decision, ”Agbonlahor told talkSPORT.
“He picked up the ball, ran over two defenders and made a wild shot over the bar when it’s best to do one pass and another run.
“It seems a bit too erratic and Chelsea, with their history with Didier Drogba and the forwards they’ve had in the past, they have to go out and buy a big, big striker who can score goals and show up in the big games. . “
Werner has scored 12 goals and recorded 14 assists in 49 appearances for Chelsea so far.
