Timo Meier and the New Jersey Devils agree.
The new contract landed at eight years and $8.8 million per season.
The New Jersey Devils continue to build their team for the upcoming season and beyond.
In mid-June, the club agreed with Jesper Bratt on an eight-year contract and yesterday the club signed Tyler Toffoli from the Calgary Flames.
Now the next piece of the puzzle has fallen into place.
Just hours before the first round of the NHL draft, the Devils and Timo Meier have agreed on a new giant contract – just like for Bratt, it is an eight-year contract, but the Swiss forward will get a little more in salary than the Swede.
It is about 8.8 million dollars per season, about 755 million kroner.
The 26-year-old was signed to the club last season and he accounted for 14 points (9+5) in 21 games in the regular season and in the playoffs he scored four points in eleven games.
In the trade, the Devils had to give up their first pick in tonight’s draft, which means the club has no pick until the second round (58th overall).
STAYING. IN. JERSEY.
