Eastern Switzerland NHL Cracks Score Three Goals, But Timo Meier & Kevin Fiala Lose With Their Teams
Appenzeller Meier lost to the San Jose Sharks at home to the Anaheim Ducks 5: 6 after penalties. St. Galler Fiala suffered a 2: 5 away defeat against the Dallas Stars with the Los Angeles Kings.
Timo Meier scored twice to equalize in the second period. In the 34th minute, the 26-year-old from Appenzeller scored 3: 3 in power play, and in the 46th minute it was 4: 4. It was the number two and three goals of the season for the San Jose Sharks winger. Meier said:
“I think it wasn’t our best match. But it’s disappointing. We always balance it. And in the end we will lose.”
Meier was voted the second best player of the match. He has seven points as a scorer after twelve games.
Kevin Fiala runs for the fifth consecutive year
Kevin Fiala already has 13 points after 12 games. The 26-year-old from St. Gallen also scored for the Los Angeles Kings in Dallas, but lost there 5-2. Fiala scored the 1-1 in the 26th minute and scored at least one point from the goal in the fifth consecutive game (2 goals / 6 assists). After Fiala’s draw, the Stars go to 4-1.
Marco Rossi wins for the first time
Marco Rossi, Rankweil’s Vorarlberger serving the Minnesota Wild, has meanwhile taken his first point as a scorer. The 21-year-old prepared a 3-0 win against the Montreal Canadiens in his eleventh appearance in the NHL. Minnesota eventually won the home game 4-1.
