The question is whether this will endanger the almost six billion for the Netherlands. Frans Timmermans: “We have told all member states that, in addition to investments, reforms are also necessary. Timmermans thinks that the Netherlands and the European Commission will eventually find a solution. “But there really needs to be a good conversation about that. Also about the reforms, as the Netherlands also demands of us from other countries,” says the European Commissioner. Timmermans is positive about the climate ambitions of the new cabinet. “It is great that the Netherlands is now showing ambition.”
