Times Square Taste Week kicks off with outdoor food and music – Telemundo New York (47)

NEW YORKNew York City is in the midst of a reopening in which it is seen how little by little those activities and events that made the Big Apple the city that never sleeps return.

One of those is the start of Times Square Taste Week, or “Taste of Times Square,” which started Monday and runs through June 14.

During this week Times Square Alliance seeks to support local businesses that have struggled to serve customers during the pandemic. Plus, it welcomes people to Times Square as they await Broadway’s big comeback in September.

During this week, the twenty-six participating restaurants will have a special three-course fixed price menu (appetizers, main courses and desserts) for only $ 35 (drinks, taxes and tip not included).

Diners can sit indoors or outdoors or have their food delivered or take out as the restaurant offers. Here you can review the participating restaurants.

“On average, we now see 180,000 pedestrians daily in Times Square and we are delighted to continue welcoming New Yorkers and visitors to the neighborhood,” said Tom Harris, president of the Times Square Alliance. “Take this opportunity to eat in Times Square and enjoy live entertainment as the county comes to life this spring.”

To enhance your dining experience, Tony’s Di Napoli will activate the plaza at 43rd Street and Broadway with a pop-up outdoor cafe area, complete with old-school checkered tablecloths and family-style Italian cuisine so you can dine under the lights and signs of Times Square.

To continue the tradition of live music, performances will appear throughout the week in front of participating restaurants and will continue to employ artists and musicians who have been disproportionately affected by COVID-19.

In addition to these pop-up presentations, they will also present Brand New Day, with musical performances, a fashion show and dancing in the streets on Friday, June 11 at 11:00 a.m. m. at Broadway Plaza between 43rd and 44th streets. This event will include dance choreographed by James Alonzo and “Pose” star / choreographer Jason A. Rodríguez. Plus, musical performances and a live fashion show featuring summer styles modeled after some of Broadway’s brightest stars.

Times Square Alliance has been supporting local restaurants through this week for the past 26 years.
