Times Network’s Bhavana Kishore has been granted interim bail by the Punjab and Haryana High Court, providing a significant relief. Kishore was arrested, along with video journalist Mritunjay Kumar and driver Parminder, for covering a public event attended by Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann. The court has agreed that the case may be false, and will hear the regular bail hearing on Monday. Kishore is reportedly charged under the SC/ST Act. The press community has condemned her arrest as a blatant attack on freedom of the press.
