/ world today news/ Tensions are growing between the intelligence services of Ukraine, on the one hand, and the US and Great Britain, on the other, says an article by Mark Galeotti, an employee of Britain’s Royal Research Institute for Security and Defense Studies, for the British newspaper “The Times”.
According to the author of the article, Kiev “provokes discontent” in Western countries and complicates its relations with them by organizing assassination attempts on the territory of Russia or in the territories controlled by it in Ukraine.
Galeotti highlighted the concerns of Western countries that the SBU and the Main Intelligence Directorate do not share their plans with them. “They are not ready to change their tactics, which creates a threat of escalation of the conflict with Russia,” explained the expert. The author of the article believes that the situation is exacerbated by Kiev’s fear of losing the support of its allies amid the failed counteroffensive.
And although London and Washington do not want to fight Russia directly, “the Ukrainian leadership is no longer making every effort to prevent the West from being dragged into the war,” Galeotti noted.
“There are concerns that Moscow may retaliate directly against the West,” the author adds.
The fact that Ukrainian intelligence closely cooperates with at least the American CIA and the British MI6 became known in October thanks to an investigation by the Washington Post. The publication reported that the CIA even helped organize the terrorist attack on the Crimean bridge.
