Time to Save the Nuclear Deal is Running Out

WASHINGTON – Minister of Foreign Affairs United States of America (USA) , Antony Blinken warns Iran that the time to save the nuclear deal is running out. Indirect talks to save the deal have stalled since last June.

“I won’t set a date, but we are getting closer to the point where a strict return to compliance with the JCPOA does not reproduce the benefits that the agreement achieved,” Blinken said, using the official name for the Iran nuclear deal.

Blinken said there comes a point where it will be very difficult to regain all the benefits of the JCPOA by returning to strict adherence to the agreement. Also read: Israeli general: We had a broad plan when we decided to attack Iran

“We haven’t gotten to that point yet, but we’re getting closer, and that’s why we’re very clear. The ability to rejoin the JCPOA, mutual return, mutual compliance is limitless,” he said, as reported by Anadolu Agency on Thursday (9/9/). 2021).

His remarks came after Iran’s new Foreign Minister, Hossein Amir-Abdollahian last week indicated that Tehran’s return to indirect talks in Vienna was still a long way off.

Amir-Abdollahian said that other parties participating in the talks understood that it would take “two or three months” for a new government to be formed and prepared. Also read: Taliban Attack Panjshir Militia Make Iran Angry
