Time magazine names Biden and Harris People of the Year

The “Time” magazine has named the future US President Joe Biden and his deputy Kamala Harris as the personalities of the year. On the new “Time” cover, the new Democratic leadership duo entitled “Changing America’s History” is shown, as was revealed on Thursday (local time).

Biden had clearly won the presidential election on November 3rd. On January 20, he took over government affairs with Harris. At 78, Biden will be the oldest politician ever to be sworn in as US president. 56-year-old Harris will go down in history as the first woman and African American woman to serve as vice president.

With Biden and Harris in the final selection of “Time” magazine, the outgoing US President Donald Trump, the US chief virologist Anthony Fauci and the anti-racism movement Black Lives Matter stood. Trump still does not recognize his electoral defeat against former US Vice President Biden.

The “Time” magazine has chosen the “Person of the Year” since 1927. The title goes to the people who influenced the news the most during the year – whether positive or negative. Last year, the Swedish climate activist Greta Thunberg was named Personality of the Year, Trump received the title in 2016, the year he was elected President.
