Timbaland apologizes for a statement he recently made about Britney Spears. The American musician stated that Justin Timberlake should have “muzzled” Spears.
Spears and Timberlake dated from 1999 to 2002. Timbaland, who often collaborated with Justin Timberlake, made the statement during a panel discussion.
When an audience member asked about Spears’ recently released memoir, Timbaland said, “She’s going crazy, right? I wanted to call and say, ‘JT, man, you gotta muzzle that girl.'” The images of which are now circulating online.
The statement earned the musician a lot of criticism on social media. Timbaland responds to the fuss via a livestream on TikTok. “Sorry to Britney and all her fans,” Timbaland said in the video. “You have a voice. Say what you want to say. Who am I to tell you what you can’t say? It was wrong for me to say that.”
