Tim Walz vs JD Vance: vice presidential candidates will confront each other in a debate

The candidates for vice president of the United States for the Democratic and Republican parties, Tim Walz and JD Vance (respectively), are scheduled to star this Tuesday in the first and possibly last debate between both political leaders before the elections.

The debate will be at 10 p.m. -Argentine time- in New York, presented by the news division CBS News, which will give Vance – a rookie Republican senator from Ohio – and Walz – a two-term Democratic governor of Minnesota – the opportunity to present themselves, defend his fellow candidates and attack the opposing formula.

Polls show Vice President Kamala Harris and former President Donald Trump are locked in a close race, highlighting the importance of the debate between the vice presidential candidates.

It could also be the last debate of the campaign, since Harris and Trump’s teams failed to agree on another meeting.

Enthusiasts

The role of a presidential running mate is typically to serve as the battering ram for the person heading the ticket, arguing against the opposing presidential candidate and their representative on stage. Both Vance and Walz have enthusiastically taken on that role.

Vance’s occasionally aggressive and hostile press interviews and appearances on the campaign trail have highlighted why Trump chose him for the Republican ticket despite his scathing past criticism of the former president, including one in which he suggested Trump would be “America’s Hitler”.

Meanwhile, Walz catapulted the Harris campaign by calling Trump and Republicans “just weird”and created a line of attack for Democrats seeking to argue that Republicans are out of touch with the American people.
