At the International Festival for Independent Cinema in California (California Independent Film Festival), Victor Chuchkov-son won the award for directing his debut film TILT.
The tape was nominated in all the key categories for the festival’s awards – Slate Awards, among them for best film, best director, best actress for Radina Kardzhilova, best actor for Yavor Baharov, cinematography for Rali Ralchev and best music for prof. Victor Chuchkov. Among the nominees in the “Best Director” category was Philippe Falardeau for his work on “Mr. Lazar”, which was also among the five nominated films in the foreign language film category for the Oscars.
The festival has a fourteen year history and is one of the most successful and fastest growing film festivals in California. Each year, over thirty films from different genres and countries are presented at the event.
The California festival is the twenty-fourth film forum where TILT has been presented. Eight more festivals are coming up, at which the film will be screened, including the prestigious “365” in Atlanta (Atlanta Film Festival 365). During the 35 editions of the festival, its guests have been the director of “Up in the Sky” with George Clooney, the actors Tarji Henson (“The Curious Case of Benjamin Button”), Ellen Page and Diablo Cody (“Juno”).
