Tilburg Trappers and Saale Bulls Halle in lockstep at the top

Reading time: approx. 5 minutes

While the leadership duo Tilburg Trappers and Saale Bulls Halle solved their tasks in the Oberliga Nord with the highest number of points, the Hanover Scorpions made a nasty belly landing as third.

The home defeat against Erfurt was definitely not planned and left the north Hanoverians five points behind the two leaders. Since Leipzig was also defeated, the Hanover Indians were one of the winners of the 14th game day, who are still tied with their local rivals and Leipzig. While the Crocodiles were watching the game day on the sofa, as was Herne, the HEV found that the Erfurt team was down to one point after their success in Mellendorf. The Herford team, who overtook their opponent, made a leap forward. Rostock also made a leap forward, leaving two teams behind with Diez and Krefeld. At the very back are the Hammer Eisbären, who are five points behind the penultimate Krefeld after their disastrous defeat against Rostock.

Hannover Scorpions – Black Dragons Erfurt 1:3 (0:0, 1:1, 0:2)

That was the surprise of the day. The Black Dragons, perfectly adjusted by their trainer Raphael Joly, played their best away game over sixty minutes, were extremely disciplined and used their chances consistently. On the other hand, the Scorpions tried everything offensively, shot forty times at the goal of Erfurt’s Konstantin Kessler and in the end were even lucky that they succeeded at least one. Erfurt’s Thomas Schmid would actually have deserved the assist, because he messed up the disc in front of his own goal without any need, gave Thomas Reichel the chance and he used it ice-cold. Previously, Louis Anders had brought Erfurt 1-0 lead when he suddenly stood completely free in front of Brett Jaeger, the Scorpions keeper, after a defensive error by the Scorpions on the gang, and punched ice cold. After the 1-1 draw, the game seemed to pick up speed for a short time, but Erfurt turned out to be spoilsport. With their clever defensive game, they stood on the Scorpions’ feet permanently and they preferred to pull them back, which suited the Erfurt game. In the third period there was a showdown right at the beginning when nobody expected it. In the first six minutes, the Black Dragons used two of the Scorpions’ lack of concentration, took a 3-1 lead and when they ran out of strength, the Scorpions couldn’t think of anything else. Scorpions trainer Tobias Stolikowski was served accordingly: “A deserved victory for Erfurt. We just didn’t find the right path and we have to come to terms with this defeat. It was probably a mistake to put together four complete series with the help of Raabe and Nijenhuis on loan from Wolfsburg. I take this mistake on myself. A “different” team will play against Krefeld on Sunday. ”His player Patrick Klöpper found clear words:“ We can only apologize. The first third was still reasonably okay. In the second we weren’t there and the first ten minutes in the third third a catastrophe. Only at the end we were fairly present. ”Erfurt’s coach Raphael Joly, on the other hand, was cool and happy:“ The best away performance of my team despite a few injuries. ”

Goals: 0: 1 (21:32) Louis Anders (rule), 1: 1 (22:23) Thomas Reichel, 1: 2 (42:14) Maurice Keil (Schüpping, Denner), 1: 3 (45:46 ) Fritz Denner (Schüpping, Wunderlich),

Mosquitoes Eating – Herford EV 2: 8 (1: 2, 0: 4, 1: 2)

The game in Essen degenerated into a demonstration of Herford’s away strength. The newcomer was only able to keep up in the first third and also took the lead through air. After Begovs equalized, Herford took command, promptly took the lead through captain Björn Bombis and dominated the game in the middle third with four goals scored and easily managed the game over time in the last third. Outstanding at Herford Rustams Begovs and Christoph Koziol, while at Essen no player achieved normal form. At Essen, Marvin Frenzel came in for Fabian Hegmann in the third third.

Torre: 1: 0 (10:39) Dominik Luft (Glemser, Ribarik), 1: 1 (11:40) Rustams Begovs (Biezaijs, Rinke), 1: 2 (17:41) Björn Bombis (Berezovsky, Koziol), 1: 3 (24:26) Christoph Koziol (Bombis, Biezaijs), 1: 4 (26:29) Rustams Begovs (Biezaijs, Rinke), 1: 5 (33:12) Christoph Koziol (Schütt), 1: 6 38:59) Dennis Schütt (Berezovsky, Pöpel 5-4), 2: 6 (55:01) Mark Zajic (Glemser, MacLeod), 2: 7 (58:09) Ralf Rinke, 2: 8 (58:44) Björn Bombis (Begovs, Biezaijs)

Hammer Eisbären – Rostock Piranhas 1: 5 (0: 1, 1: 1, 0: 3)

That was a zero number for the polar bears, who slowly have to wonder who they still want to score points against. Against clever Rostockers, only Artyom Alexandrov was able to successfully place his 31 shot attempts in the goal of Rostock goalkeeper Luca di Berado. At Rostock, Lukas Koziol and August von Ungern-Sternberg shone with two goals each and above all Justin Maylan, who again achieved three assists. This means Maylan leads in the pure assist standings with 25 points and five points ahead of Patrick Schmid (Halle) and even eight points over Joonas Niemelä, also Halle.

Goals: 0: 1 (09:46) Lukas Koziol (Balla, Dudas), 1: 1 (20:48) Artyom Alexandrov (Dotter), 1: 2 (33:00) Mark Ledlin (Gerstung, Maylan), 1: 3 (40:24) August von Ungern-Sternberg (Maylan), 1: 4 (57:31) Lukas Koziol (Balla, Lavallee), 1: 5 (59:16) August von Ungern-Sternberg (Ledlin, Maylan)

Icefighters Leipzig – Saale Bulls Halle 4: 5 2: 0, 0: 2, 2: 3)

The top game of the evening went to Halle, although it looked very different after 20 minutes. Leipzig started like the fire brigade, led through Hannon after just 86 seconds and increased to 2-0 through Farrell in the same third. The Halle residents came back successfully in the second third. Niemelae and Hoffmann equalized. When in the third period the Bulls literally overran their hosts in the first few minutes and took the lead 4-2, it seemed as if Leipzig had given up, but that was not the case. Riekkinen brought his colors closer to 3: 4, but Vihavainen scored shortly afterwards, outnumbered to 5: 3, which meant victory. Walther Klaus’s second goal came too late.

Tore: 1: 0 (01:26) Connor Hannon (Spöttel 5-4), 2: 0 (12:47) Ian Farrell (Riekkinen, Klaus), 2: 1 (21:47) Joonas Niemelä (Pfennings, Schmid) , 2: 2 (33:37) Erik Hoffmann (Niemelä, Schmid), 2: 3 (41:14) Roman Pfennings (Schmid, Niemelä), 2: 4 (42:27) Tatu Vihavainen (Fomin), 3: 4 (47:51) Joonas Riekkinen (Schön, Slanina), 3: 5 (50:06) Tatu Vihavainen (Valasek, Becker 4-5), 4: 5 (50:40) Walther Klaus (Stopinski, Spöttel).

Tilburg Trappers – Krefelder EV U23 5: 1 (1: 1, 0: 0, 4: 0)

It was a battle of nerves that the Tilburg team hadn’t expected in the form before the game. 37: 9 shots on goal were counted, but the Krefeld team took the lead. Even after Van Soest equalized the Tilburg team relatively quickly, it took half an hour of play before the Krefeld Fortress was ready for a storm. One after the other, the Trappers met four times within seven minutes and decided the game. The outstanding player of the day was the Krefeld goalkeeper Jonas Gähr, who achieved an excellent 86.5 percent despite the goals against.

Tore: 0:1 (04:41) Florian Maierhofer (Westerkamp), 1:1 (14:06) Ties van Soest (de Hondt, Loginov), 2:1 (48:23) Giovanni Vogelaar (Hofland, de Hondt) , 3:1 (51:14) Max Hermens (Bulmer, Stempher), 4:1 (54:51) Danny Stempher (Hermens, Bastings 5-4), 5:1(55:32) Raymond van der Schuit (Hessels , Muller).
