Tilburg Train Station Reopens After Evacuation – Abandoned Bag Found Safe

Dec 07, 2023 at 7:01 PM Update: 2 hours ago

The police reopened Tilburg station after hours. The train station was evacuated on Thursday afternoon due to an abandoned backpack. But there was nothing suspicious in the bag.

The police did not want to take any risks when investigating the backpack. An explosives dog was needed for this and that animal had to come to Tilburg from Zeeland.

The bag was discovered by staff at the station around 4:40 p.m. The police then cleared the platforms and shops at the station.

The force says it finds it “very annoying” for the travelers who have suffered significant delays due to the abandoned bag. “But we have to follow the protocol and eliminate the danger.”

The timetable has now resumed.
