In the US, a 19-year-old TikTokeur has raised a huge sum of money so that an 81-year-old supermarket clerk can pay off her mortgage and finally retire.
Devan Bonagura is an American TikTokeur with a big heart: he raised more than $100,000 to help an octogenarian who had to continue working to pay her mortgage.

It all started in early November when the young man, originally from New Jersey (USA), shared a video of Nola Carpenter, an 81-year-old Walmart employee.
In the images we see the old lady – who seems exhausted – sitting in the bathroom of the supermarket during the break: ” Life shouldn’t be that hardcommented Devan Bonagura.

The heartbreaking clip has been viewed more than 30 million times since it was posted on Nov. 2. Reactions from internet users led the TikTokeur to set up an online kitty to raise money for Nola.
In another video, Devan Bonagura clarified that he works for a salesman who sells phones in-store. The latter revealed that the store manager had asked him to delete his content and the kitten, because the channel had received threats.
The TikTokeur raises more than $181,000 for the 80-year-old
Unsurprisingly, the young employee made the choice to continue his good deed. Result: he was suspended by his employer, but this injustice was worth it. The reason ? He raised more than $100,000 (about €96,000) in just 24 hours.
Alas, this amount did not allow the octogenarian to pay off the mortgage and retire. Finally, the kitten reached $186,000 (€178,528) a few days later.

In a video, Nola expressed her gratitude before thanking donors: “I feel good and I am grateful to Devan for what he has done, otherwise this would not have been possible.“, she said. “I worked at Walmart for 20 years to pay for my house».
He will retire in January 2023.
