Jakarta: TikTok announced a series of changes that will be available in the mobile version of its application, including an increase in content resolution as well as new effects and other performance improvements.
quote GSM Arena, one of the changes that TikTok will roll out in some countries is the option to upload content in 1080p resolution. When uploading a video, selecting the More option and sliding the lever towards Upload HD will enable the upload capability at 1080p resolution.
TikTok now also lets users take advantage of the Green Screen effect over GIFs. Users can select a GIF via Giphy’s TikTok partner library, and then overlay the video on top of the GIF using the Green Screen effect.

In addition, the new Visual Enhancement feature improves video image quality with a single tap. This feature can make basic changes including exposure compensation, color correction and image enhancement in low-light conditions on videos shot directly or uploaded from a gallery.
Voice Effect uses audio synthesis and allows any audio in the video to be rendered such as animal sounds or musical instruments. To access this feature, users need to tap on the Voice Effects button in the right pane of the Editing page.
Previously, TikTok announced that around 430 songs surpassed one billion video views on its platform in 2021. That’s three times more than in 2020, according to 2021’s Year on TikTok Music Report.
Some of the most popular songs on this report garnered around or above 20 billion views in videos that used them as soundtracks. This annual recap of TikTok includes a number of figures for how the song performs when it’s not being used in videos on the platform.
Meanwhile, TikTok’s parent company, ByteDance, changed its organizational structure to six business entities. This decision was taken after CFO Shou Zi Chew stepped down from his post, citing a desire to fully focus on his role as CEO of TikTok starting in December 2021.
These six business units include TikTok, Douyin the Chinese version of TikTok, video game publishing studio Nuverse, work collaboration tool Lark, business services division BytePlus and educational app Dali Education.
