“TikTok Testing AI Chatbot Tako for Content Recommendations: Will It Revolutionize the App?”

Artificial Intelligence (AI) chatbots are making their way into a number of popular apps right now. Next on the list is “TikTok”, which is currently testing AI bot Tako, which will help users with content recommendations and thus allow them to find both new and more specific videos faster.

A spokesperson for Watchful Technologies, a company that tracks changes in the apps, says that if TikTok releases the new chatbot, it could “radically change the way you search and navigate the app.” It’s hard for me to judge this myself, as I rarely use TikTok, but for those who use the app more often, the new feature could be quite useful.

Watchful Technologies has shared several images of what Tako’s integration with TikTok could look like. The chatbot will be found on the right side of the video next to the other options. Tapping the chatbot icon will open a chat screen where the user can ask Tako to find specific videos. For example, cooking videos of certain dishes, etc.

A TikTok representative revealed that the new feature is currently only available for testing in the Philippines and did not provide more specific information on when it will roll out to more users.

It should be noted that TikTok is testing the new feature at a time when the company is facing a difficult situation in the US. It has already been reported that Montana has become the first US state to approve the ban on “TikTok”, which will officially come into effect in January 2024.
