The Chinese video app TikTok is testing a “Q&A” function for content producers with which they can answer questions from their fans in live streams and videos. Creatives can add their own option to their content that their followers can use to submit questions.
This allows them to see in one place what their fans want to know from them.
Communicate with followers
“Users can add a Q&A button to their profile that followers can use to ask questions,” explains social media advisor Matt Navarra on Twitter. So far, producers have only been able to receive fan requests in comments on their individual videos. The Q&A feature is designed to make it easier to address a wide variety of questions and to communicate more directly with followers.
As “TechCrunch” reports, currently only users with more than 10,000 followers can take part in the test. There is no limit to the number of questions fans can ask. However, the content producers do not have to respond to every request. The feature should then be available to more users in the coming weeks.
Competition already had a feature
The overwhelming popularity of TikTok continues unabated. In 2020, the app was at the top of the download charts for short video clips. The Q&A function is a feature that the competition has been using for a long time, including Snapchat and Instagram.
