Jakarta: The popularity of TikTok is very global, even in a number of videos circulating from Indonesia, it is seen that the videos were made by users who are still children. TikTok itself has a policy that accounts can only be created by those who are at least 13 years old.
Reportedly, in order to create a healthy ecosystem and content, TikTok has tightened the policy. Reportedly they started deleting many TikTok accounts that were suspected of having faked their age in order to be able to access content in the short video application TikTok.
Quoted from Mashable, TikTok has released a marketability report for 2021 that summarizes research into their service for the first three months aka the first quarter of 2021. Here it is revealed that they found accounts that faked their age.

“This is the first time we’ve released a number of accounts that were allegedly underage and removed as part of our efforts to keep TikTok targeted at those aged 13 or over,” TikTok wrote in its report.
Here they reveal that 11,149,514 accounts were deleted for violating user or platform policies but seven million accounts or more precisely 7,263,952 accounts were deleted on suspicion of falsifying their age or still under the age of 13.
TikTok itself did not release their decision to state that the account violated its policy by falsifying the age of its users. However, some of them clearly stated that they were 12 years old or younger.
The number of deleted accounts may seem very large, but TikTok claims that overall this figure does not reach one percent of the number of users. TikTok actually has a special platform, TikTok for Younger Users, for users under the age of 13.
TikTok itself continues to apply strict policies for users who are under 18 years of age. For users aged 13-15 years, their account will be automatically made private and cannot download videos or interact with content. A similar policy applies to users aged 16-17.
