La red social TikTok has added a new function that allows users to share music from Spotify and Apple Music, directly on the platform. With this new tool, users will be able to listen to and share everything from individual songs to albums and playlists complete directly from TikTok, without the recipient having to log in to other platforms.
Users will be able to use this new feature in two ways: sharing music, both on the feed, the stories like in the “For you” section; and through direct messages.
Content shared on TikTok will have additional links that, if the user wishes, the will redirect to the original platforms where they can discover similar music.
The head of Global Product Partnerships at TikTok, Lindsey Kelt Zikrycommented through the official announcement of this feature that “we know that creative expression is a basic principle of the experience of users and creators of our platform, a principle that is also highly valued by our commercial partners.”
He explained that the integration of the “Share to TikTok” function allows “Seamlessly share the content of the services streaming of music to the platformunlocking a new unlimited method of creative expression for users and creators alike, along with an ability for artists, authors and podcasters to seamlessly connect with your audience on TikTok.”
This new inclusion seems to be the way in which ByteDance, the company that owns TikTok, will compensate for the loss of its platform. streaming of music.
