Last Wednesday the first Binational Forum on criteria in accessibility Tijuana Access, a space for reflection regarding the pending issues surrounding universal design
Panelists attended the call with some disability, universities, Civil Protection, Cotuco, Municipal Urban Infrastructure Directorate, among others.

It is up to us as citizens to create space for them and reflect on what we are doing in our facilities so that all people can access it,” he said about the purpose of this type of meeting.
Businesses and institutions will be able to do a self-assessment following this guide to analyze how they can change, explained Báez López.
Exclusive spaces
He stressed that the objective is not to have exclusive or special spaces for people with disabilities, but rather spaces that work for citizens in general.
Yury recalled that all people are susceptible to suffering from a disability at some point or will become older adults.

“We have to think about what city we want for when we are older adults if we want to see it in a personal way, so that the spaces are accessible to us, when we need them,” he explained.
