Tijuana Health Centers Now Offering Influenza and Covid-19 Vaccines After Delayed Arrival

The Tijuana health centers already have doses against Influenza and Covid-19, starting this Wednesday, after the delay in the arrival of the biological to the city.

Yesterday the National Vaccination Campaign for the winter season began in Baja California, however people who went to the previously announced vaccination points, which include health centers, found that the doses were not available.

The Baja California Health Secretariat reported that the vaccine arrived during the early hours of Tuesday, making its distribution difficult to start as scheduled.

The Mexican Social Security Institute (IMSS) announced that starting tomorrow they would begin applying the biological ABDALA against Covid-19 in family clinics, while against the influence they are already available.

The director of the health center, Carla Campos, invited the population not to wait and go to the vaccine as soon as possible before winter arrives and thus reduce the risks in case of contagion.

The Covid-19 vaccine is available for people over 60 years of age, pregnant women and the population with any comorbidity from 18 to 59 years of age.

While the flu vaccine will be available for boys and girls from six months to five years old, as well as people over 60 years old.
