Bola.net – Tijjani Reijnders revealed that he wanted to join AC Milan rather than Barcelona because the Rossoneri were always his first option and also because he was tempted by the role promised by Stefano Pioli.
Milan recruited many players in the summer of 2023. One of them is Reijnders.
The Dutch player was transported from AZ Alkmaar. Milan won the hunt for Reijnders from other clubs such as Barcelona.
Milan bought him for 20 million euros. Reijnders then became one of the important pillars in the Rossoneri midfield.

Tijjani Reijnders was then asked why he chose AC Milan over Barcelona. He admitted that he chose the Rossoneri because from the start his first choice was the Rossoneri.
He also chose Milan because of Stefano Pioli’s persuasion. The coach gave a clear idea of how he would play in the Rossoneri squad.
“I don’t have to think much. “Milan was my first choice, also because of his role,” Reijnders told The Corriere della Sera.
“They explained to me how they wanted me to play and I knew it was the best solution,” he said.

Tijjani Reijders once revealed that his idols are Lionel Messi and Andres Iniesta. Both are Barcelona legends.
Reijnders said that at Milan he also had idol players. Just mention the legend against the Rossoneri from the Netherlands, Marco Van Basten.
“It’s a dream to be here. I think of van Basten, Gullit, Rijkard. “For us Dutch people, this has always been a special team,” continued the Dutch midfielder.
“I like helping the team to score goals, running forward and being creative, but I know defense is very important, especially in Italy,” he said.
