The recent shocking incident of gangster Tillu Tajpuriya being brutally murdered inside the Tihar jail in Delhi has received widespread attention. The assailants allegedly stabbed him around 100 times and continued to stab him even as his body was being carried by policemen after the attack, as seen in a new video that has surfaced on social media. Former law officer in Tihar jail, Sunil Gupta, has slammed the police inaction inside the prison and called it a serious offence under jail rules. Former Punjab DGP Shashikant has also commented that the prison administration system has collapsed and recommended reforms have not been followed. The incident should not be viewed as an isolated case, he added. The CCTV footage has captured the brutal attack and revealed that Tajpuriya was wearing a red T-shirt and black shorts and tried to shut the iron door of his cell when he spotted the attackers. The same team investigating the murder of another gangster, Prince Tewatia, last month will be investigating Tajpuriya’s murder. Evidence, including blood-stained clothes, improvised weapons, and bed sheets, has been collected. Tajpuriya had been facing a threat to his life following his involvement in the 2021 Rohini court shootout that resulted in the death of gangster Jitender Gogi.
