Exotic and Baskin were the subjects of reality series ‘Tiger King: Murder, Mayhem and Madness’. Tensions between the two ran so high that Exotic was eventually convicted of plotting to murder Baskin. He is currently serving a prison sentence for that offense and several animal cruelty cases.
In one of the lawsuits between Baskin and Exotic, the former was awarded a hefty amount, which led to Joe Exotic having to hand over his now closed zoo to her. Baskin confirmed to Yahoo on Sunday that she recently sold the site to local entrepreneurs.

The new owners were allowed to take over the former zoo on the condition that they will not do anything Tiger King-related with it. “Whatever they settle there, we don’t want it to be called ‘Tiger King’,” said Baskin. “We would like the animal cruelty that has taken place here for 20 years to be a thing of the past and forgotten.”
