Tie | Firefighters managed to control fire in fabric factory

More than 30 firefighter units were necessary to control a fire that affected a fabric factory located in the Vulcano urbanization, in the district of Ate.

After more than 6 hours of work on site, firefighters were finally able to confine the fire, which consumed 70% of the premises. For this work, the electrical fluid in the area had to be cut off due to the risk generated by nearby public lighting poles.

Previously in statements to RPP News, the commander of the fire department, Mario Cassaretto, indicated that they worked hard to control the fire, which was listed as code 2.

Cassaretto argued that inside the premises there were cotton packages and other flammable materials. During the emergency, the owners of the company came to try to remove computers and other equipment, but were prevented by firefighters.

Lack of water pressure was a problem for firefighters to quickly control the emergency, so Cassaretto asked Sedapal to take action on the matter so that the firefighters can continue their work.

We are asking Sedapal to enable the area with flow, since we need to supply our units, given that the flow is very low (…) We do not have the water pressure that we need so that our vehicles can have permanent water and be able to work on extinguishing the fire, ”he indicated.
