Today, our country is one of the most extensive habitats of dangerous creatures that carry many infections. In addition to tick-borne encephalitis, small parasites continue to spread an equally insidious disease.

As soon as the sun begins to warm up on the street, small bugs appear in parks and forests, which are much more correctly classified as arachnids. In recent years, infectious disease specialists have been sounding the alarm due to an increase in the number of infections with an ailment that can completely disable many body systems.
So, Lyme disease is mainly caused by a bacterium of the genus spirochete Borrelia. The danger of the disease lies in the fact that often the symptoms appear already against the background of total infection. In the first stages, when the infection is easy to stop with antibiotics, sick people feel quite satisfactory.
However, if after a tick bite you have some symptoms, then it’s time to run to the doctor to find out the situation. One of the most typical signs of Lyme disease is a skin rash called erythema migrans (the inflamed area resembles a target). A week or two after contact with a blood-sucking parasite, many patients develop a “flu” malaise: weakness and headache. One gets the impression that the person’s health has worsened against the background of SARS. But if 7-14 days ago you were in the forest, then it’s time to think about the nature of the so-called cold.
If, after the appearance of the two listed symptoms, the patient did not go to the hospital, then soon he may complain of less typical signs of an insidious disease, including, for example, an arrhythmia lasting from one to several weeks. Pain in the lower back, joints and conjunctivitis can also indicate a serious diagnosis. However, one of the most dangerous signs of the presence of the bacterium spirochete Borrelia in the body is neurological problems.
It is not for nothing that Lyme disease is commonly called the “great imitator” – the infection skillfully disguises itself as chronic fatigue syndrome, multiple sclerosis, Alzheimer’s disease and other conditions, the diagnosis of which is associated with a lot of difficulties. Often, patients complain of memory impairment, problems concentrating, and even panic attacks.
