Tickets purchased during an emergency will be available for use in the theater in the new season / Article / LSM.lv

Visitors will be able to use the performance tickets purchased during the emergency as the new seasons of the theater gradually resume. The theaters offer to cancel some of the canceled performances now, allowing visitors to choose the most advantageous date, or offer to return the money. However, even with the current distance restrictions, some canceled performances still cannot be shown in theaters due to the capacity of the premises.

Some theaters will resume the new seasons in the coming weeks and at the same time will show performances not played during the emergency. A total of 193 performances were not performed at the National Theater during the emergency and there are about 29 thousand spectators who should be given the opportunity to watch the performances. The theater will start performing some of the performances in accordance with the distance requirements starting from August 5.

“Currently, 26 performances have been postponed, all of them are performances of the New Hall, in coordination with the director, in order not to lose the artistic quality. In September, the performances of the Actors and the New Hall will most likely be postponed again, those agreed with the directors, as well as the concert performance of the Theater Days will be postponed, ”explained Dace Pāne, Finance and Sales Director of the National Theater.

She said that the sales staff contacted each viewer to find out if he would come to the theater, and

if the spectator does not want to visit the theater, the money for the tickets is returned.

In turn, performances such as “Skroderdienas Silmači” have been postponed to the next year, when tickets purchased this year for a total of 9 performances will also be valid. Of course, the issue is about performances where there are a lot of artistic staff on stage at the same time, such as “Blow, winds”, which are still among the most demanded performances by the audience. Pan explained that these performances are likely to be carried over to next year.

Meanwhile, the New Riga Theater canceled 102 performances, of which 10 performances of “Baltais helikopters” have been refunded to ticket holders. The rest of the performances, which did not take place from March to June, the theater will try to postpone, but due to the current restrictions, they cannot be shown in its halls yet.

Inga Liepiņa, a representative of the new Riga Theater, said: “It will soon be clearer on which dates these postponed performances, or at least some of them, may be, everyone will receive a personal message – information will follow on which dates.”

Tickets for shows that cannot be transferred will be refunded. “Currently, unfortunately, we are very limited in drawing up specific plans, simply because these 2-meter distance rules remain, which prevents us from planning these performances for the time being. Our hall is not so big – 250 and 300 seats, which, observing these rules, would allow about 20-30 people to gather, ”Liepiņa emphasized.

A total of 72 performances with more than 10 thousand spectators have been canceled at the Valmiera Drama Theater. At present, up to 30% of the medicine’s capacity can be used, subject to requirements. However, the director of the theater Evita Ašeradena pointed out that after the performances already shown in May, it was concluded that people are ready to come to the theater, therefore in Valmiera most performances will be offered during the new season, but previously sold-out guest performances in Riga have been postponed until May next year.

“The season starts for us on Tuesday, and the first performances are already at the end of the week. We exchanged more than 700 tickets in the first week, but people want to change those tickets. It was important to understand what was happening to people psychologically. Of course, there are people who say they won’t come sooner than the fiction will be, next year and so on, and of course there are shows that have high running costs and that we can’t show to 70 spectators, ”said Asheradena.

For example, it will be possible to play “Hamlet” after January, but all other performances of the show will be sold until January.

It is currently stipulated that the organizers of the relocated events must announce the new dates, which the surveyed theaters promise to do by December, within six months after the lifting of the emergency restrictions.
