Attention good plan. The new trains marketed by SNCF under the Ouigo brand will be launched on April 11 on the Paris-Lyon and Paris-Nantes lines, the company said on Tuesday. Ticket sales will open on Wednesday, with all tickets being offered at €5 on launch day as well as the following day, Thursday. Operated on the model of the low-cost TGV Ouigo, these trains will use Corail coaches refreshed and repainted in pink. Tickets will then cost from 10 to 30 euros for adults, with a fixed price over the entire sales period until the departure of the train, said SNCF Voyageurs in a press release.
The service, called “Ouigo Classic Train”, will offer two daily round trips between Paris-Bercy and Lyon-Perrache, which will take between 4:45 and 5:15, with stops in Villeneuve-Saint-Georges (from June), Melun, Dijon, Chalon-sur-Saône and Mâcon. It will take between 3h30 and 4h15 to get from Paris-Austerlitz to Nantes, with three round trips per day passing through Le Mans or Tours, with stops respectively at Juvisy, Massy-Palaiseau, Versailles-Chantiers, Chartres, Le Mans and Angers and Juvisy, Les Aubrais, Blois, Saint-Pierre-des-Corps, Saumur and Angers.
Low prices for children
Children will pay 5 euros regardless of the route. The same price will apply for additional baggage from 2023, according to the statement. As for bicycles, they can be boarded for 5 or 10 euros. The trains will be open for sale 45 days before departure. A “snack” service for itinerant sales will be offered in these pink trains “with a simple card and accessible products”, specified SNCF Voyageurs.
