For this, the company offered a press conference to detail its technological improvement process after controversies in Mexico and other countries due to duplicate or false tickets at concerts by artists such as Bad Bunny.

On June 30, the Federal Consumer Attorney’s Office (Profeco) of Mexico and other agencies defending consumer rights in Argentina, Chile and Spain sued the ticket office to guarantee the protection of ticket sales.

Ana María Arroyo, general director of Ticketmaster in Mexico, highlighted that the new Safetix system will transform all tickets into digital format with dynamic barcodes that change every 15 seconds, which invalidates the capture of screens as an access method. This measure ensures greater protection against fraudulent resale and duplication.

Arroyo explained that, although the tickets will continue to be transferable, the process will be carried out through accounts registered in Ticketmaster.com.mx.

This will allow the receiving person to generate a new ticket, without being linked to the original buyer.

The Safetix system is already in operation in some places such as the Telcel Theater, and it is expected to be implemented in other entertainment centers in the coming months, including emblematic venues such as the National Auditorium or the Foro Sol.

In the act, Ana María Arroyo, highlighted this Monday that the new ticket is safe, 100% digital and transferable.

“Our goal is to improve the experience from purchase to event access through the use of our phone,” said Arroyo, who highlighted that among the new security tools for each ticket is a dynamic barcode, which changes every 15 minutes.

This allows those who verify access to platform events to verify and mitigate possible fraud.

In addition, he pointed out that it will be possible to send any ticket to any friend or relative, and once it reaches the new user, the barcode will change again and will be removed from the first account in which it was purchased.

Arroyo also explained that the tickets can be integrated into the digital wallets in the different mobile devices in Android and IOS systems, to facilitate their access through the approach to a reading terminal.

The new digital ticket is part of the technological evolution that the company has undertaken for five years, with an investment of 900 million dollars (about 15 thousand 396 million 560 thousand 100), said Arroyo.

In addition to the advances in the Safetix system, Ticketmaster has improved other of its platforms, such as the Help Button for fans, which will offer answers in less than 24 hours, and the virtual queue, which seeks to block resellers by implementing codes and control procedures, such as the TM1 Entry system.
