(CNN) Ticketmaster apologized to Taylor Swift and her fans Friday night after a ticket sales crunch made it difficult to purchase tickets for the pop star’s new tour.

“We want to apologize to Taylor and all of her fans, especially those who had a terrible experience trying to purchase tickets,” the ticketing site said in a blog post.

The company added that it’s working to make buying tickets “as easy as possible,” though “it hasn’t been the case for a lot of people who have been looking to buy tickets” for Swift’s tour, which kicks off in March and extends up to 52 stadiums around the world. United States for five months.

Taylor Swift opens up about Ticketmaster fiasco: ‘It’s unbearable’

The company said it is working to “strengthen our technology for the new demand that has been established” for the tour. “Once this is passed, if there are any next steps, updates will be shared accordingly,” she wrote.

The mea culpa comes after Swfit said on Friday that the situation was “unbearable” for her, given the chaos her followers were undergoing.

“I’m not going to excuse anyone because we asked them, multiple times, if they could handle this type of lawsuit and they assured us they could,” the singer wrote in an Instagram post on Friday afternoon. “It’s truly unbelievable that 2.4 million people already have their tickets, but it really annoys me that so many of them feel they had to fight so hard to get them.”

Swift added that she would try to “figure out how to improve this situation in the future.”

Ticket sales for the singer’s new Eras Tour began on Tuesday, but overwhelming demand brought the ticketing site to a halt, angering countless fans who weren’t able to purchase their tickets. Customers complained on social media about Ticketmaster failing to load, saying the platform wouldn’t let them access tickets even if they had a pre-sale code for verified fans.

On Thursday, Ticketmaster announced that the public sale, scheduled for this Friday, has been canceled due to “extraordinarily high demand on the ticketing systems and insufficient remaining ticket inventory to meet that demand.”

“To those who haven’t received tickets, all I can say is that I hope we can provide more opportunities for us to come together and sing these songs,” Swift said.
