The Festival will make a special nod to the figure of Alfonso X in the commemoration of the VIII Centenary of his birth, with the celebration of three concerts dedicated to his figure, that of Capella de Ministrers (on October 9 at 8:00 p.m.), Ensemble Alfonsí (on October 23 at 8:00 p.m.) and a Battle of Organs that will be titled The Wise King of Toledo on October 16 at 8:00 p.m. as well.

THE FINAL BROOCH

The final highlight of the Festival will be the concert of the violagambist and conductor Jordi Savall in the Cathedral on October 30.

The Councilor for Culture has transferred his gratitude to the organization of the festival for focusing its scope of celebration this year around the eighth centenary of the birth of Alfonso X El Sabio, the “most universal king of Toledo.”

For his part, the general director of the Royal Foundation of Toledo has trusted that this cultural event “is the return of illusion.”

For his part, the Dean of the Cathedral has highlighted the “growing involvement” they offer to this event through “a singularly interesting program”. In addition, it has maintained, this year through the figure of Alfonso X El Sabio that “although he is not the king most closely linked to the construction of the Cathedral, he did have to participate closely in the development of the works”, with what he has called “appropriate” that this year the festival revolves around his figure.

The vice-rector for Internationalization of the UCLM, Raúl Martín, has expressed the “satisfaction” that his participation and contribution to enhancing the proposal constitutes for the educational entity and has recalled the connection of the Wise King to the School of Translators.

Finally, the director of the El Greco Music Festival, Juan José Montero, has addressed some of the most outstanding details of the program.
