Listeners will meet the Latvian Radio Choir and conductor Kaspars Putniņš, the State Chamber Orchestra Sinfonietta Riga, who will play under the direction of conductor Andris Veismanis, as well as with the brilliant soloist, winners of the Great Music Prize 2017 – violinist Kristīne Balanas. HK Andersen’s fairy tale will be introduced to the children’s musical sounds in the concert Thumb. The concerts of the festival will also be available on the Internet, conducted by the popular Latvian musician, groups Tools co-founder – Jānis Šipkēvics.
Early music festival Riga concert Baroque and Renaissance masterpieces will take place on July 16 at 21 Riga Dome Cathedral. The Latvian Radio Choir, conducted by Kaspars Putniņš, will perform compositions by Johann Sebastián Bach, Thomas Luis de Victoria and Jososk de Pré. The organ stabules of the Riga Dome Cathedral will be in charge of the organ virtuoso, winner of the Great Music Prize 2019 – Aigars Reinis.
On July 18, children will be greeted by HK Andersen’s fairy tales at Rundāle Castle Thumb heroes, who, dressed in glorious costumes, sang and danced the message of the fairy tale to the music of Mark Antoine Sharpantier. Soloists – Marlena Keine, Evija Martinsone, Mihails Čuļpajevs, Kārlis Rūtentāls will take part in the musical production; vocal group Abaronin Set; instrumental music ensemble led by Lāsma Melder-Šestakova; Students of NMV Riga School of Choreography and Riga Dome Choir School. The concert will take place in the White Hall at 13.
In turn, at 22 Antonio Vivaldi Violin Concerts Series will traditionally close the Early Music Festival in the White Hall of Rundāle Castle Seasons, which has experienced countless recordings and interpretations around the world, thus Seasons probably called one of the most popular opuses of classical music. We will enjoy the mood of the seasons Sinfonietta Riga, conductor Andris Veismanis and temperamental musicians, whose violin playing has been performed at the Berlin and Paris Philharmonic, Barbican Center in London and other prestigious concert halls – performed by Kristine Balana. The concert will feature works by Christoph Willibald Gluck, Jean-Philippe Ramo, George Philippe Teleman.
