The Royal Greenhouses of Laeken have been open to the public for a period of approximately three weeks for a hundred years. This year is no different, although it is a bit chaotic.
You can reserve a time slot via www.koninklijke-serres-royales.be, but that didn’t work all day. “The server is overloaded,” it said, due to the great interest. Slots can sometimes be reserved since 4:20 PM, but it remains difficult.
No tickets can be purchased or reservations can be made on site.
More visitors
Precisely because of that great success, extra time slots were added this year. The organization will admit a total of approximately 148,000 people this year, which is almost 40,000 more than last year.
Visitors can choose a long trail (3 km) that starts with a walk through the gardens, or a short trail (2 km).
On Tuesday, May 14, there will be an adapted route with guidance for people with limited mobility.
There are nocturnes on Friday, Saturday and Sunday evenings. The Royal Greenhouses are closed on Mondays, except on Whit Monday, May 20.
During the nocturnes, visitors can only take the short course.
