But the Ukrainian Armed Forces were not exhausted either in the South or near Bakhmut, so the invaders had to throw the 18th and 25th armies, which they were preparing for the offensive, into defense and counterattacks.
The 25th Army went to the East, to Bakhmut, and the 18th – to the South. “So the general plans of the Russians for the offensive that they had at the beginning of winter have been thwarted. At the moment they do not have reserves that could radically change the situation in their favor,” – said Sazonov.
