Homegrown alternative heavy metal band “THUrsday 12th” has released a new single and video. It looks like this once very hopeful band has woken up from its lethargic slumber and is back on track in earnest.
How to break out of the routine, not get lost and be able to return to everyday life? In the song “Christine” the escape is compared to a ride behind the wheel of “Christine’s” car – referring to Stephen King’s short story “Christine”. “‘Christine’ is jealous, possessive and deadly, like addictions that allow you to forget, but slowly draw you in and destroy you,” explain the THUrsday 12th musicians.
“THUrsday 12th” is an “alternative/groove metal” band from Riga, founded back in 2003. At one time, it entered the scene of heavy music with great force – the most active period of the group’s activity dates from 2007 to 2012, when the EP “Distance”, the album “Fool’s Gold” was released, several videos were filmed and more than a hundred concerts were given, but… “2013. In 2018, the group fell into a lethargic sleep, from which they woke up only in 2020 to record the songs that have not been published so far,” informs the group. ‘Christine’ is their third single, following previously released ‘Bridges’ and ‘Measure Of My Patience’, and suggests we’ll be expecting more from this blitz.
It should be noted that “THUrsday 12th” is also noticeable this weekend, February 9 and 10, at the two-day festival “InnerFade Fest” taking place at the club “Melnā Piektdiena”. 17″ members – their performance is scheduled for Friday. Entry to this festival is free, so anyone can go and experience these beasts in person!
