Thuringia’s red-red-green minority government has agreed on a budget for 2021 with the CDU. The jointly established budget is the prerequisite for the planned new elections. According to the CDU parliamentary group leader Mario Voigt, his party has turned the state budget towards the future. Around half a billion euros was therefore moved. The main focus of the Christian Democrats was to “strengthen home and citizens”, to implement a school initiative and to anchor an economic program for medium-sized businesses and crafts in the household.

The red-red-green government parties also see their own important interests asserted. Die Linke emphasized that there will be a trainee ticket, for which 4.6 million euros are earmarked. 23 million are available to fight the corona pandemic.

AfD wants to cut budget for migration officers
Parliament is due to discuss and vote on the budget on December 18 and 21. Stefan Möller, the migration policy spokesman for the AfD parliamentary group, has already applied for the budget for the country’s migration officer to be canceled.

The Thuringian budget volume is expected to rise to a record value of around 11.7 billion euros. Loans of almost 1.6 billion are to be taken out.
