Weather deteriorating in many regions of Italy. Temperatures drop
Update 12:30 – While on many stretches of the Northwest, large clearings have been activated thanks to the driest winds of the fall (Fohn), the weather is still highly unstable on the opposite side, the eastern one where showers, including thunderstorms, continue to hit a large part of Friuli Venezia Giulia, Veneto more eastern and many stretches of the Emilia / Romagna coast.
The regions of the Central and Southern Peninsular have also entered the culmination of instability. Here the still current high temperatures contrast with the incoming cold air, generating several storm systems that are affecting, albeit in a very irregular form, lower Tuscany, the Marche coasts, Umbria and Lazio inland with showers that are pushing up in Rome and up to Abruzzo and Molise.
Strong instability is also reported in the southern regions, especially in Puglia, in the north of Basilicata and in many corners of Campania.
Update 11:30 – Precipitation continues in the extreme north-east, in particular in the easternmost area of Veneto, including the coasts, as well as in Friuli Venezia Giulia and eastern Emilia, where scattered rains and some showers are reported. Strong thunderstorms also affect the entire Adriatic side of the Center up to the north of Puglia.

Hours update 09:20 – The phase of very unstable weather continues, which in these hours envelops the extreme regions of the Northeast, in particular the easternmost area of the Veneto, including the coasts, Friuli Venezia Giulia, the easternmost Emilia where scattered rains and some showers are reported. Strong instability also affects the entire Adriatic side of the Center up to the north of Puglia. There are also strong thunderstorms in these sectors at the moment, especially in the open sea but also on some internal sections of the Center such as in southern Tuscany and Umbria. The weather is also worsening in Campania and Calabria in particular close to the reliefs.
SITUATION. It formed a cyclonic vortex on Italy due to a lowering of the fresh and unstable North Atlantic flow. After dispensing a lot bad weather last night on many areas of the North, now it shifts its range of action towards the more eastern districts, also involving many areas of the Center.
Right now, in fact, there are several showers also with a thunderstorm background, especially on Veneto, Friuli Venezia Giulia, eastern Emilia and, to descend, on Marche, Umbria, Abruzzo and Molise. Some rains have also reached Lazio and some corners of Campania.
NEXT HOURS – During the morning rains scattered and local temporal they will insist on part of the Northeast and the Center, here in particular in the inland areas and on the Adriatic sector. But there will also be room for a deterioration to the Sud peninsular, where we expect temporal at times a lot violent accompanied by gusts of wind and locals hail. Here the phenomenology may in fact be more aggressive due to the pre-existing heat due to the still very high temperatures for the period.
The bad weather will still accompany us also for the second part of the day while the cyclonic vortex it will begin to travel southwards. Once again, the easternmost areas of the North and much of the Center-South will be under clouds, scattered rains and still many thunderstorms. Only from the evening will we begin to see signs of improvement in the Northeast regions while the weather forecast throughout the central and southern Adriatic department.
Finally, we point out that there will also be a portion of Italy where the meteorological picture will remain calmer and above all dry as in the Northwest regions and on the two major islands where the most evident phenomenon will be a drop in the thermometers and a return to temperature closer to the average for the period.
TREND – Are we therefore heading towards the end of the week under the sign of fresh bad weather? Apparently not!
