Thunderstorms, lightning and strong winds for the next 24 hours: orange weather warning triggered

Orange weather warning also in the Palermo area. The regional Civil Defense has issued a warning for meteorological-hydrogeological and hydraulic risk, valid from 4pm today until midnight tomorrow, Saturday 19 October.

“For tomorrow, throughout Sicily, an orange warning for severe weather is expected. In particular – we read in warning number 24292 – for the next 24-36 hours, widespread rain is expected, mainly showers or thunderstorms. accompanied by heavy showers, frequent electrical activity and strong winds.”

The wave of severe weather, widely expected by meteorologists for this weekend, is the result of an Atlantic disturbance which has already led to an increase in cloud cover today, with first light or medium rain. Bad weather is expected in Palermo tomorrow, with storms and heavy showers, including thunderstorms. Rain that will then tend to ease over Sunday and the following days, leaving room for some clearing.
