Thunderstorms, hail and local flooding: summer weather still far away

The showers will move from northwest to southeast and will mainly cause nuisance in the middle and east of the country. “They only move over slowly, so it’s best to rain,” says Buienradar meteorologist Thomas Vermeulen. It’s hard to say exactly where that happens.

Code yellow

For a large part of the country, except for Friesland and Noord-Holland, the KNMI has announced code yellow. Also in terms of temperature it will not be a summer day with 19 degrees.

Are you outside and it starts to thunder? Storm radar meteorologist William Huizinga explains in this video what you should and should not do:

Tomorrow there will be showers mainly in Limburg and Zeeland, but they will be less intense than today. In the rest of the country, clouds and sun alternate. It will be about 20 degrees, which is cooler than average around this time of year. Vermeulen: “It will be a little quieter than these days, but stable summer weather is still a long way off.”
