Between restrictions and concerns, France faces Wednesday August 3 the hottest day of the third heat wave recorded since June, with temperatures which could reach up to 40°C in the South-West according to the midday bulletin of Météo France. “Wednesday will be the hottest day nationwide”warns the institute, but the peak of heat will still be present on Thursday “moving to the East”.

The temperatures will drop on Thursday in the north of the country. “Temporarily dense high clouds invading the rest of the northern half”specifies Météo France, which adds that “under this chaotic sky, a few weak showers circulate from the morning of the Pays-de-la-Loire and Poitou to the Center and the Paris basin”. “Between Wednesday and Thursday the maximum will often be greater than or equal to 35°C with peaks of 39 or 40°C in the South-West”, specifies Météo-France, which has placed 26 departments on orange heat wave alert.
