“Thunderstorms Cause Chaos for Ryanair Passengers Traveling from Prague to Turin”

Heavy thunderstorms affected large areas of the Turin area north of the regional capital and the Biellese late yesterday evening. Gusts of wind, intense rain and hail in the Chivasse area, in particular in Caluso, where the most insidious storm cells have formed: trees and poles have fallen, the roads have been flooded.

Hail also on the Caselle ring road and at the airport. Some flights were diverted to other airports: this is the case of Ryanair which departed from Prague at 7pm and was diverted to Genoa. The passengers then reached Turin on board a bus, made available by the low-cost airline, but the return from the capital of the Czech Republic – as told by a passenger – was further lengthened due to a puncture of a bus tyre. “The Prague-Turin journey thus lasted 12 hours and only this morning at 7 – the witness recounts – we were able to return home”.

Today, informs Arpa, the weather will worsen again in the afternoon: “New showers and thunderstorms are expected in Alpine and foothill areas”.
