A missing person in the Gard

The person was clinging to debris and rescuers could hear him, then contact was broken, explained the communications officer of the Gard firefighters, Lieutenant-Colonel Eric Agrinier: Either the person escaped downstream, alone or with the help of emergency services, or it is the more dramatic hypothesis and they potentially drowned, which we do not hope., he added.

Interior Minister Gérald Darmanin declared that “State of natural disaster” would be declared as early as next week for the bad weather which caused significant flooding in this department.
