Thunderstorm, hail and strong wind gusts: KNMI comes with code yellow for Brabant

In some places in Brabant, it can rain heavily this evening and the coming night and it will blow hard. So hard that the KNMI has issued a code yellow for our province, among other things. The warning will be in effect from 9 a.m. on Sunday evening and will remain in effect until midnight.

“It can be quite haunted in Brabant on Sunday evening,” weatherman Wouter van Bernebeek of Weerplaza predicted in the morning. “I expect the first showers between seven and seven thirty in the west of our province. Until then, the temperature will be about 0.” 11 to 14 degrees still fairly high, with moderate to strong winds from the southwest.”

According to Van Bernebeek, a shower area would move over Brabant from seven o’clock from the southwest. It also carries colder air with it. This can lead to heavy showers that can cause a lot of rain. In combination with thunderstorms, this can be accompanied by gusts of wind between 65 and 80 kilometers per hour. “In addition,” explains the weatherman, “it can still hail locally. It is difficult to indicate exactly where the showers will fall.”

It will not get colder than eight degrees on Sunday evening. Van Bernebeek had something to say about Monday: “On Monday there is still a chance of thunderstorms. In addition, there is still a rain shower here and there.”
