One month after the Strawberry Moon, all of America will be able to enjoy the Thunder Moon, an astronomical phenomenon that will coincide with the lunar eclipse of this month. Between the night of July 4 and the morning of July 5, the sky will be illuminated by a penumbral eclipse, in which the moon will pass through the partial shadow of the Earth (twilight), which generates a a slight darkening of the Moon’s surface.
On this occasion, the astronomical phenomenon will last approximately 1 hour and 45 minutes. Unlike the last solar eclipse “Ring of Fire”, America will be this time the most privileged place to observe the event, both in quality and observation time. The twilight of Earth is expected to cover approximately one third of the Moon in the peak phase of the eclipse.
The phenomenon will be seen in almost the entire continent, from Canada to southern Chile. The video of the world map produced by the specialized portal Time and Date shows the ‘journey’ of the lunar eclipse. According to these data, in Buenos Aires it will be appreciated to the maximum between 0:07 and 2:52 on Sunday.
