In order to keep the difference of six points after the round, GC has to win at home against Wil on Saturday.
The equally ambitious Stade Lausanne-Ouchy also suffered a setback. The Vaudois drew in Wil at the tied-back FC Winterthur after an early lead 1: 1.
Aarau, on the other hand, won their third win in a row with a 3: 1 at home against bottom light Chiasso and the fourth in the last five games of the Challenge League. The Kosovar Donat Rrudhani excelled in this match with three post and picket shots as a double scorer. Participation in the barrage is within reach for the people of Aarau, but they are unlikely to be an option for direct promotion. After all, the deficit on Thun is only three points.
